Work is created
New demands, decisions, problems, priorities, and dependencies enter the system.
The UnCeiling Zone
We help people become the best version of themselves while helping organizations design responsibility for sustainable performance.
What We Believe
We believe people perform at their best when responsibility is intentional, sustainable, and aligned with purpose.
When responsibility quietly accumulates without clear ownership, decision authority, adequate support, or shared accountability, capable people begin carrying more than anyone realizes.
Eventually, individuals burn out and organizations lose energy, judgment, creativity, trust, productivity, and the people they most depend upon.
Burnout is not simply an individual problem. It is often the visible result of responsibility patterns that have remained invisible for too long.
The Pattern
The Trust Tax examines what happens before exhaustion becomes the whole story.
New demands, decisions, problems, priorities, and dependencies enter the system.
Certain people repeatedly become the unofficial owners of what others miss, avoid, cannot resolve, or do not have the authority to address.
Cognitive noise, bandwidth loss, unresolved carrying, and responsibility without authority begin to compound.
Exhaustion, disengagement, errors, lost creativity, turnover, and reduced capacity become visible.
Two Sides of the Same Pattern
Sustainable change requires us to understand both.
Recognize where responsibility has become unsustainable, what it is costing you, and what you can begin changing.
Understand the conditions that overload capable people, weaken decision-making, and make strong performance difficult to sustain.
The Trust Tax™ Assessment
High performers often become the unofficial owners of problems no one else catches.
The Trust Tax™ Assessment is a responsibility and leadership assessment that identifies the patterns most likely to contribute to burnout before burnout becomes the whole story.
It is being designed to show how responsibility is routed, accepted, transferred, avoided, and carried—and what those patterns may be costing individuals and organizations.
Live Experience
Recognizing the pattern is the beginning.
Rewrite Your Story helps high achievers examine the beliefs, expectations, identities, and responsibilities shaping their current direction.
It is a day to recognize what has been draining you, release what no longer belongs to you, and reconnect with the person underneath all that responsibility.
Podcast Special Series
Through conversations with leaders who have experienced burnout firsthand—and who now help others navigate leadership, performance, identity, and recovery—we are investigating why capable people quietly become overloaded.
We are also asking what individuals can change, what organizations must change, and how we can recognize the pattern before burnout becomes the whole story.
Different careers. Different organizations. Similar responsibility patterns.
Why This Work Is Personal
I built my career by stepping into difficult situations, solving problems, and accepting responsibility when the path forward was unclear.
That approach helped me grow from a high school teacher into a senior executive in a STEM organization.
It also showed me how quickly capable, committed people can become the default owners of work no one else sees—and how organizations can come to depend upon that pattern without recognizing its cost.
My work now focuses on helping individuals understand the stories and responsibility patterns shaping their lives while helping organizations create clearer, healthier, and more sustainable ways to deliver results.
Begin by recognizing what you have been carrying, what it has been costing you, and what no longer belongs in your next chapter.
